This webinar explores the basics of PVAWD which stands for preventing violence against women with disabilities. It provides professionals in the social service sector with an introduction to the intersection of gender and disability. This is a special International Women's Day edition of PVAWD 101.

Hosted by the Gender and Disability Workforce Development Program of Women with Disabilities Victoria, this one-hour session will put our work in context and demonstrate how you can be part of systemic change. Through understanding the drivers of violence against women with disabilities, the essential actions outlined in Changing the Landscape, we increase the potential for meaningful change in professional practice that is inclusive and accessible.  

Details of PVAWD 101

What: An information session on the principles of preventing violence against women with disabilities.  

When: March 08 11am – noon 

Why: Because it's International Women's Day and violence against women with disabilities is preventable.

Who for: Social Service professionals, Disability Sector, Women’s services, Violence Prevention and Response practitioners.  

How much: There is no cost to attend, however booking is essential.  

How: Online via Zoom 

The session will provide information with speakers and slides, including WDV’s co-facilitation model that includes a woman who identifies as having a disability. There will also be time for questions and discussion. You’ll also learn about ways to learn more or have your work be endorsed by the Gender and Disability Workforce Development program.
