The Enabling Women Graduation Celebration 

Come celebrate as participants Graduate from the Victoria Statewide Enabling Women Program!   

The Enabling Women Program empowers women and non-binary people with disability, as they build confidence and develop community leadership skills. 

The Graduation celebration enables peers, family, friends, WDV staff and community members, to honour and celebrate with the Graduates who have participated in the Program, and who have each been working towards an individual leadership goal.

This event is Free for guests to attend. 

This is an invite only event, however, you are welcome to bring a guest. To ensure guests are properly accommodated they will need to register individually, as will support workers.

Running times

Please note, these times are approximate and will be confirmed closer to the event. 

2:00pm – 2:15pm: In person guests arrive - Tea and coffee  

2:10pm – 2:15pm: Online guests arrive.  

2:15pm – 3:30pm: Formalities - Presentation of Certificates and Speeches.  

3:30pm: Online event ends  

3:30 – 4:30pm: Finger food, soft drinks and socialising.  

4:30pm: In person event ends. 





Venue accessibility information:  

The Room - WAYI DJERRING  

Located on Level 4. The venue and balcony are fully accessible. The bathrooms are located inside the venue and are exclusively for venue guests. The bathroom doors do not meet current standard requirements and at its narrowest point measures 72cm. One of the four stalls is designed for ambulant access, with a larger footprint and grab rails, and may be accessible for some wheelchair users. The closest accessible bathroom is on the Ground floor. 

General Access 

Visitors with mobility aids accessing the centre from Lonsdale street are advised to take the ramp on the western (left-hand side) of the building along Shilling Lane. This will direct them to the automated doors at the rear of QVWC. Visitors accessing the centre from the QV Courtyard, eg Artemis Lane, will find stairs connecting the QV Courtyard to the rear automated doors. Visitors with mobility aids are directed to use the platform lift, proximate to the QVWC SHOP, to access the rear automated doors.  

Within QVWC, a passenger lift can be used to access all floors from ground up. The lift has a doorway of 90cm, an internal depth of 209cm and a maximum load of 1125kg. Where there are small steps or accessibility issues, platform lifts are installed or portable ramps are provisioned. Our basement, housing resident organisation GUCK, can only be accessed via stairs. However, alternate meeting rooms can be arranged on the ground floor for GUCK visitors facing accessibility issues.  

Parking 

A small number of curbside City of Melbourne parks are located in front of QVWC on Lonsdale St, with a larger volume of curbside and central parks found on Russel St proximate to Artemis Lane. Disabled parks are also located in these bays.  

Long term parking is located underneath Queen Victoria Women’s Centre in the Wilson’s Car Park. Access is via Lonsdale, Russel or Little Lonsdale St. $20 all day with >$1 purchase from a selection of QV stores, or $15 weekend flat rate.
