Women and girls with disabilities are twice as likely to experience violence as those without disabilities.
This is a series of two (2) online workshops, for social and community service professionals, to learn about how gender and disability inequality drives violence, and how you can prevent it. See below for session details.

Session 1: Wednesday 6 November, 10:00am–3:00pm
Session 2: Thursday 7 November, 10:00am–3:00pm
Both sessions include a 1-hour lunch break and additional short breaks.
Location: Online via Zoom (details will be provided upon registration)
Cost: $280 employed professionals, $200 student/ concession

Session 1: Introduction to Prevention of Violence against Women with Disabilities + Gendered and Ableist Drivers of Violence

- How our everyday actions and practice can contribute to violence against women with disabilities
Session 2: Gender and Disability Prevention in Action
- How gender and disability equitable practice can create change to end violence
- Introducing concepts of inclusive and accessible practice
- Strategies and tools to prevent violence against women with disabilities
- Resistance and backlash
- Bystander action
The series is facilitated by women and non-binary people with disabilities and centres the voices of lived experience. It is evidence-based, aligning with the latest research on disability, Our Watch’s Changing the Landscape, and the Preventing Family Violence & Violence against Women Capability Framework.
All sessions will be recorded.
